Richard Wright, MD, MACC

Richard Wright, MD, MACC, is an internationally recognized cardiologist and healthcare policy leader who currently serves as Co-Director of the California Medicare Contractor Advisory Committee, Chair of the American College of Cardiology National Carrier Advisory Committee, and Cardiology Advisor to Medicare’s Relative Value Update Committee. He was previously the Director of the Heart Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica and a long-standing member of the clinical faculty at UCLA.   Currently, he is Chair, Pacific Heart Institute, Santa Monica, CA, and a heart failure cardiologist affiliated with Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Wright completed his residency and cardiology fellowships at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he trained under some of the nation’s foremost leaders in cardiovascular medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Wright has been widely recognized for advancing heart failure care, shaping national reimbursement and clinical policy, and mentoring the next generation of cardiovascular specialists.

Scott D. Solomon, MD, is the Edward D. Frohlich Endowed Chair and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Senior Physician, and Director of the Clinical Trials Outcomes Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. A globally recognized leader in cardiovascular medicine, he has pioneered major advances in heart failure research, directing numerous phase 2 and 3 trials that have shaped modern therapeutics across reduced, mildly reduced, and preserved ejection fraction. His work contributed to the development of cornerstone treatments—including sacubitril/valsartan, SGLT2 inhibitors, and finerenone—and he has authored more than 1,500 peer-reviewed publications along with key textbooks in echocardiography. Dr. Solomon has also advanced the role of cardiac imaging in clinical trials, led NIH cohort imaging centers, served in senior editorial roles for leading journals, and currently serves as Editor of Braunwald’s Heart Disease.
